SoundPass is not recommended for use in people with the following medical history, as this type of technology has not been tested in these circumstances:
● Recent acute traumatic injury to the head, neck, throat, chest, abdomen, or trunk
● Permeable tracheostomy stoma
● Recent trauma or surgery of chest/abdomen/trunk, recent/persistent neurovascular injury or recent intracranial surgery.
● Persons unable to cough voluntarily
● Medical history of diaphragmatic hernia, neck / external beam throat / throat / maxillofacial radiation, injury / phrenic nerve paralysis, radical neck surgery / throat / maxillofacial, trauma or vocal cord nodules

People with aphasia may have difficulty producing a FCV-SDS within the time allotted by the application and have not been evaluated as a population.

If you experience breathing difficulties or shortness of breath, you may need more than one attempt to achieve a successful presentation of FCV-SDS for analysis.
